Our story begins with a vision — a world where every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to thrive. Founded by Lorenzo Daughtry-Chambers, a sixth-generation minister and social entrepreneur, GDI emerged in the heart of New York City with a mission to transform lives and uplift communities globally.

Driven by the belief that lasting change comes from within communities, we embarked on a journey of empowerment. Over the years, we've evolved and expanded our reach, pioneering innovative solutions, and partnering with local leaders to make a difference where it's needed most.

Today, our hybrid model, blending nonprofit initiatives and social impact investing, allows us to address immediate needs while investing in sustainable, long-term solutions.
